Danny Kaye is superb in this movie about a bumble who is mistaken for an Inspector General, and how he pulls it off is worth the price of the film. The music is marvelous, and Kaye's machinations as he sings and dances to it are classic. Many lessons of life are involved in this movie. Friendship, loyalty, and especially "honesty" come to play, and the ending is genuine.

Shirley Temple stars in this 1939 version of the Frances Hodgson Burnett novel about a little, motherless girl left in the care of a girls boarding school by her soldier father, and then made into a servant there when he's missing in action during World War I. The final scene, in which our Shirley is helped by one of the most famous women in history, brings down the house.

This animated film was entirely hand painted by over 700 artists over an 18 month period; over 39,000 pencils were used for sketches, and over 12 tons of paint were used to paint the animation cells. It was an incredible feat in 1939 and would cost billions to replicate today. This timeless classic is hailed by critics as one of the best animated films ever.
